The Challenge

Needed to update a kitchen that was originally designed in the early 2000s, without dramatically changing the footprint. In addition, the homeowner wanted to convert their cold, empty den into a more comfortable and welcoming space.

The Vision

We looked to transform the kitchen to the client’s taste, modernizing with new cabinets, appliances, countertops and backsplash. The layout could not change significantly, as the homeowner did not want to refinish the hardwood flooring. For the den, the homeowner wanted to have a cozy fireplace to relax by that could also showcase their substantial pottery collection.

The Solution

The new kitchen layout was able to accommodate a new, larger island, a gas range with tile surrounding the hood to the ceiling, a wine fridge/bar, room to display dishes, and a custom spice rack in a previously-wasted, angled space. In the den, the resulting fireplace blended perfectly with the rest of the house, looking as if it had always been there.

The Result

The stunning and modern new kitchen precisely met the homeowner’s needs. When not cooking, they can now relax in their updated, comfortable and warm den.
