The Challenge

The home’s original kitchen was quite isolated to the rest of the house. The existing cabinets were also inhibiting the flow of the kitchen. Meanwhile, the master bathroom featured an awkward design that featured a large bathtub, small single vanity, and tiny shower.

The Vision

For the kitchen, our plan was to open it up while reusing and relocating the perimeter cabinets to maximize the space for family gatherings and entertaining. Our vision for the master bath was to add a double vanity and a walk in shower that can be handicap accessible.

The Solution

We removed a pass-through wall and small doorway leading into the family room, and took out the wall between the dining room and kitchen. With the open space, we were able to add a large island with seating and storage. Replacing the hardware on the old perimeter cabinets gave them a beautiful facelift. In redesigning the master bath, we removed the old tub and small vanity, which provided ample room for a new, relocated double vanity and a large walk-in shower that featured a bench for seating.

The Results

The new kitchen offers huge open-concept space with an immaculate island that has plenty room for family and friends. The cabinets are accessible from front and back, so no space was lost for storage. We were also able to reuse and relocate the perimeter cabinets to maximize storage while minimizing expense. For the bathroom, we were able to make it more conducive for a couple. The improved design maximizes space and provides the homeowner with convenient double vanity and walk-in shower that features a unique, modern tile layout.
